![]() She didn’t greet us but when I said hello she told us they don’t open until 5 pm. The place was completely empty except for one employee. The doors were unlocked the open sign on the window was lit up and I even grabbed a menu on the way out. Update: I came here 2/22/20 a few minutes before 4pm. Again their lunch special prices are a good deal! ![]() But the soup came with a decent amount of chicken. The spring roll was literally one tiny roll cut in half. I liked that the lunch special came with an appetizer spring rolls, soup or a salad. It didn't taste off but the texture had me a little apprehensive. I never had a noodle like it, I asked the waitress what it was made of and she said string beans. I ordered their Pad Khi Mao with shrimp, the noodles were transparent, and very chewy almost rubbery. However, the food and the drinks were good and at a decent price. I hate being seated in the back of a restaurant! Anywhoo that was strike 1, strike 2 was her attitude, she spoke to us like she either didn't want us to be there or she didn't want to be at work. And the waitress tried to sit us all the way in the back of an empty restaurant. ![]() The restaurant at the time only had two guest in there. It was before their lunch special was over. I went there this past Friday for my brother's graduation lunch. And don't assume that people can't understand what you're saying behind their backs. I hope you guys at the bakery improve the customer service and learn to teach your workers to be as transparent as possible to avoid future misunderstandings like this. While I love their cakes, their customer service has totally gone downhill. Sadly, I dont think I will be returning here. If I did business and acted the way that she did in front of my patients, I would get chewed out immediately. Talking behind peoples backs in another language and her nonverbal actions showed her lack of professional demeanor. Should customers be expected to know the prices of their stuff by heart?Īll in all, I am sadden by the fact that the workers, not all of them, just that one in the picture, has such a poor attitude and is not willing to acknowledge her mistake when I admitted it was my fault I misunderstood but I am not entirely in the wrong. I continued to tell her look, its my fault I misunderstood but she should have been clear. She continued to talk in mandarin and shaking her head and muttering under her breathe. She was complaining and while I understand the frustration since the cake was already being made, she should have been upfront about the additional charge. She started speaking in mandarin to her coworkers which I completely understood. I told her no, I didnt want fruit in the middle and I had misunderstood that it was an additional charge. She said that I said that it was okay and that the cake was already in making. Transparency is important in any sort of business. Am I supposed to know their cake prices off the top of my head like I work there? If the fruit in the middle is extra charge, she should have mentioned it up front. Later she tells me the cake is $29, so I assumed that prices just went up because of covid but when I looked at the menu, I realized that fruit was extra $6, which she never mentioned. The worker (her picture is included below) asked if I wanted fruit with it, which on my mistaken assumption, I assumed it was included in the price of the cake and she meant the fruit on the top, not fruit in the middle. I ordered a fruit cake for my birthday and told her I wanted an 8" chocolate fruit cake. However, I am highly disappointed with my recent experience with them and their lack of hospitality in their customer service. Their cakes have made me take the long trek out to flushing. So so good, even better than the ones I've had in Hong have been a long time customer here because I love their fruit cakes, Boston creme pies, and curry puffs. The dried shrimp □ rice roll comes with the peanut &sweet sauce as well All of them were incredible with a smooth crepe, fresh sesame on top, as bite after bite of meat & crunchiness of veggies. We also added an egg □, something unexpected but so so tasty From there you can add 3 types of veggies like cilantro, spring onion, lettuce, and bean sprouts. Joe's steam rice rolls is one of those spotsįresh rice fills the steamy air with a constant clanging of silver trays, china plates, and plastic cutters chomping down on the rollsĮvery roll is freshly made as shown in the video, with a choice of beef, pork, bbq pork, shrimp, dried shrimp, or fish ball to choose from. I love going to place where they serve food I certainly cannot make at home. STEAMED RICE ROLLS AT JOE'S RICE ROLLS □FLUSHING NYC
